Hello Friends,

Last Wednesday night, I went on a prayer walk through downtown Philly. Never have I seen so many police on the streets! I stopped and asked one officer why so much police presence that night. She explained about the potential problems that might occur due to an organized demonstration. This, of course, was tied to the recent decisions in Ferguson, MO and New York City.

As the Body of Christ, we are called to influence our communities and nation. The first, and greatest thing we can do is pray! Pastor Gabe, lead Pastor from Freedom Church, and I are planning a special prayer gathering this coming Wed. night at 7pm in the fellowship hall here at Highway.  The focus will be on worshipping our Lord and praying for the love of Jesus to “blanket” our hearts so we can lead others in the way of true love and racial unity. Jesus is the answer, but we must seek Him! Crisis in our nation can either spiral out of control, or be controlled by the power and love of God. The choice is ours as believers…to pray or just to helplessly watch. Please join us this Wednesday night. The children are welcome too. Let them experience the prayer meetings. We anticipate the meeting to last until around 8:30. God bless!

Pastor Mark
